We are currently seeking an Accounting Manager at our corporate offices located in Salt Lake City, Utah. As the Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day staff accounting department; which includes managing the accounting activities and the workload of your team - all within a specific portfolio of assigned commercial properties. You will also be responsible for meeting and exceeding the property management department and client expectation - as it relates to financial and accounting reporting.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage 8-10 staff accountants including: assigning and directing work, appraising performance, and resolving problems.
Oversee the monthly close processes including review joint venture and third-party owner financial statements and distributions.
Other duties may include: corporate general ledger reconciliations, audit support, and assisting in the preparation of quarterly financial reports for public filings with the SEC.
Take lead on assigned projects and act as a resource, as needed.
Coordinate work with other departments as needed.
Education and/or Experience:
A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting is required with a minimum of five years of accounting experience.
Firm, working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Comfortable working with computers and automated accounting systems
Attention to detail
Highly motivated self-starter
Goal-oriented and possesses the ability to prioritize on a consistent basis in an ever-changing environment
