Extra Space Storage is looking for a Director of National Projects who will be responsible for the execution of all national programs, initiatives, and facility programs that impact the physical plant assets across the country. The Director will create functional strategies and develop budgets, policies, and procedures to support facility services to include the branding of acquisitions, and implementation of current and future enhancements to the brand.

Leadership

  • Lead multi-functional teams to develop and deliver outcomes that meet success criteria.

  • Develop and implement strategies and tools for increasing efficiencies, expanding innovation, training and communications as required to support change management.

  • Develop and manage annual budgets and effective vendor management strategies by leveraging technology and innovation to ensure delivery of business requirements.

Essential Duties

  • Develop multi-year strategies and program pipeline designed to increase ROI and shareholder value.

  • Develop and lead strategies for acquisition and onboarding of new properties and ensure scalability of program support to achieve flexible growth strategies.

  • Develop strategies to enhance 3rd party owner consumer awareness and brand recognition and influence enhancement of brand presence for managed properties.

  • Provide regular coaching leadership and support to grow and develop talent and create an environment of continuous learning and development within the facility department.

  • Conduct bi-weekly follow-up, coaching and training of direct reports with emphasis on continuous growth and delivering business requirements for time, cost, and quality.

  • Conduct semi-annual performance evaluations and manage bonus, recognition, and company award programs for direct reports.

  • Travel throughout the country as needed to assist in the development of implementation strategies and program solutions and to conduct follow-up, coaching and training of project managers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, construction, engineering, architecture, or related field required. Master’s degree preferred.

  • 5+ years’ experience leading similar teams of program managers and facility professionals a must.

  • Working knowledge of construction trades, applied engineering, and facility or construction project management. 

  • Highly proficient in all current business software applications.
