About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced, visionary Senior Creative Brand Manager to lead our brand and creative strategy. This role will build upon the tone and creative direction for how the Extra Space Storage brand shows up across all channels—from digital to in-store to advertising—and ensure creative excellence across every touchpoint. As a leader, you’ll oversee a multidisciplinary team of designers and project managers, inspire bold creative thinking, and ensure strategic alignment across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Creative Leadership & Brand Strategy

  • Support and elevate the brand vision, voice, and identity across all channels, including but not limited to digital, in-store, print, and events.

  • Develop and lead compelling creative strategies that support advertising, digital, UX, and in-store experience. Drive messaging in alignment with brand values and business goals.

  • Enhance reporting and storytelling of value and purpose of brand and be able to influence stakeholders and leaders on the power of brand.

  • Manage external agencies both through communicating goals, staying on budget, and maintaining strong relationships.

  • Partner with CX and Data Science teams to develop quantitative and qualitative analysis on branding.

  • Translate complex ideas into clear, engaging creative concepts.

Team Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team that is responsible for graphic design, UX, video production, copywriting, and project management.

  • Create a culture of innovation, collaboration, and high performance. Demonstrate our company values and commitment to industry-leading performance.

  • Set clear expectations, provide regular feedback, and support career growth for team members.

  • Support teams through the AI transformation phase to enable teams to find efficiencies while upholding design standards.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with senior leadership to align creative work with business objectives.

  • Partner effectively with CX, PR, People, Product, UX, and Marketing teams to ensure a consistent and compelling brand experience.

  • Provide creative direction and support across internal communications, employment brand, and customer-facing campaigns.

Execution Oversight

  • Oversee execution of all creative projects—digital, video, signage, and more—from concept through production.

  • Ensure quality, consistency, and brand alignment across all touchpoints.

  • Balance creative excellence with efficiency and scalability.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in brand or creative leadership, ideally in retail, hospitality, DTC, or a customer-centric industry.

  • Proven ability to lead a high-performing creative team in a fast-paced environment.

  • History leading a UX team and mentoring a team on best practices and emerging trends is preferred.

  • Experience with brand development and brand championing, ideally for a retail company and/or low purchase frequency, need product.

  • Deep understanding of digital, UX, and physical brand experiences.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.

  • Comfortable presenting to and influencing executive leadership.
