Our Systems Administration Manager leads and manages a team of systems administrators. This team is responsible for building, supporting, and maintaining corporate IT infrastructure including networks, VPN, firewalls, storage, and VOIP systems. The manager works with business stakeholders and product managers, to determine needs, recommend solutions, plan, and execute on initiatives.
Primary Responsibilities
Leads design, development, testing, and deployment of production systems for the team
Directs design and analysis processes for systems under management
Ensures proper management of all assigned programs and projects
Forecasts and plans for development efforts to adjust schedules and align resources
Architects technology solutions that drive appropriate business outcomes
Communicates and oversees adherence to policies and processes
Manages and identifies risk and works to mitigate them
Ensures stakeholder satisfaction during delivery
Makes hiring recommendations and decisions and develops team members
Mentors and coaches team members to align with career path and organizational goals
Ensure security practices and conformity to all applicable laws and regulations: PCI, SOX, GRDP, etc.
Job Specifications
Strong experience with Microsoft Azure and Office 365 administration
Advanced knowledge in networking (Cisco Enterprise and Cisco Meraki preferred), Windows Server operating systems, and one or more skills in VMWare, Palo Alto Firewalls, Storage Arrays, Active Directory
Ability to adhere to and train on change management best practices
General knowledge relating to security principles and best practices (CIS, OWASP)
Experience recovering datacenter, cloud servers and data using backup software
Proven ability to build and lead a team that successfully implements and maintains IT systems
Leadership abilities to develop, mentor, and coach employees
Ability to handle multiple and complex streams of work
Good communication skills, both written and verbal
Facilitation of team decisions and conflicts between stakeholders
Promotes a culture that supports company values
Drive healthy conflict and consensus for team decisions
Motivates others to achieve established goals within published timeframe
Education and Experience
5-7 years of relevant experience
2+ years of leadership experience
Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) from a four-year College or University in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent in related work experience) is mandatory
