Job Description

The Accounting Specialist assists the accounting department with accounts receivable and payable duties. They provide customer service to both external and internal customers.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Process in person/over the phone, payments, vacancies and key requests/returns
  • Communicate with clients to discuss account statuses, charges or discrepancies
  • Process rental increases and later letters
  • Assist the Accounting Supervisor to ensure all employee expenses are submitted on time
  • Turn long overdue accounts over to collection’s agency
  • Scan checks, allocate funds to accounts and process end of month reports.
  • Process ACH changes for current and new clients
  • Assist Accounting Supervisor with processing new properties into all systems  
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Specifications

  • Data entry, scanning and filing
  • Provide customer service through email, phone and in-person
  • Performs work under direct supervision of the Accounting Supervisor. Handles basic issues and problems

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) with some higher education preferred. One to three years AP experience preferred
  • Fluency in Spanish preferred
