The Quality Engineer will be embedded on a scrum team where you will work closely with software engineers and act as an evangelist for building quality into the software delivery process as well as help to ensure that high quality software is being produced by the team. You will take a lead role in building the testing framework used by the team to produce automated tests. You will be responsible for guiding the team to appropriate levels of test coverage and reporting on the health of the automated test suite.
Primary Responsibilities
Set up and maintain test automation frameworks (Cypress, K6, React Testing Library & Jest)
Drive automation-focused test strategy.
Assist the development team in providing appropriate test coverage on all projects.
Managing overall quality of projects and releases.
Create and maintain test plans and test cases.
Form a partnership with the business teams to understand their processes and collaborate to design and develop solutions to meet and ideally exceed their needs.
Manage multiple projects at once, prioritizing your time appropriately.
Work alongside other engineers on the team to elevate technology and consistently apply best practices for testing, maintenance, and deployment.
Mentor junior members of team to share proper process and techniques.
Follow corporate and departmental standards and processes.
Write and maintain technical documentation.
Job Specifications
5+ years of relevant work experience in Quality Assurance.
Strong proficiency in JavaScript and at least one UI automation test framework (Cypress, Selenium, Puppeteer, etc.)
Experience with at least four of the following technologies: TypeScript, React, Next.js, HTML, HTML5, CSS, SQL, C#, and API testing frameworks (Postman, K6, etc.)
Experience with manual and automated software testing, including each level of the test automation pyramid.
Experience with DevOps and deploying infrastructure using cloud deployment technologies like Vercel, AWS, and Azure.
Capable of delivering on multiple competing priorities with little supervision.
Familiarity with Scrum/Agile development methodologies.
Technically savvy approach with self-motivation and flexibility.
A self-starter who is committed to personal and career growth.
Team player who seeks to build and educate the team in a cooperative manner.
Excellent communication and soft skills are essential.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree or five or more years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
