Sr. Director Data Science
The Data Science team at Extra Space specializes in using analytical techniques to optimize pricing and promotion strategy, to develop keyword bidding strategies, and to determine optimal marketing mix. Over the last 10 years this team has played an important role in Extra Space producing sector leading top line performance. The team is looking to expand data science practice in the areas of property acquisition and HR analytics.
We are looking for a leader with strong technical depth and experience in fields such as Machine Learning and Decision Systems. We expect the leader to drive data science partnerships with business and technical leaders across the company. We will rely on your leadership to expand our methodologies and to drive the data science practice at Extra Space forward. The Sr Director of Data Science will oversee the development and implementation of the data science and advanced tools and processes.
Mentor and inspire talented data scientists, data engineers, and machine learning engineers to find and implement creative and innovative analytical solutions
Develop and implement new methodologies and processes that will answer difficult analytical questions in pricing, marketing, and acquisitions
Communicate effectively to all levels of the organization, including executives.
Successfully partner with teams with varying backgrounds - property acquisitions, HR, pricing, marketing, call center
Facilitate data-driven and informed decision making
Experience building advanced analytical systems;
Excellent communicator of data driven decisions.
Ability to mentor analysts to analyze large data sets, synthesize and communicate findings
SQL programming skills. Python or R programming skills
Team player with excellent collaboration skills
Highly motivated and high level of energy and enthusiasm
Domain expertise in Revenue Management or Digital Marketing a plus
Education and Experience
A Master’s Degree in quantitative degree such as operations research, computer science, mathematics , statistics; Requires 7 - 10 years' experience in applying advanced analytics to drive business outcomes
